Bible Verse for Sunday Service December 19, 2021
Luke 1:30-33
And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
Announcements:
So close to Christmas, our Savior’s birth, the most important announcement was Christmas Service, as usual at 5:30PM on Christmas Eve. We also heard that AWANA is taking a break until January 5th, 2022. Rounding out the announcements came the news that there will be a deacons’ meeting on January 13th, and the Annual Business Meeting and Potluck on January 23rd. Lastly, a representative from the Gideons will be with us and provide a report on their ministry of scripture distribution.
Sermon:
For the Advent season, Pastor spoke on the Matthew, 2:1-11, Qualities of a True Seeker. Pastor first asked us to remember that some traditions, even those that relate to Christ himself, are not correct; i.e., the kings were not at Jesus’s birth. How do then we know the truth? Through Christ. We are drawn to him, we are delighted by him, and we are devoted to him. Through all of these qualities, we can sort out truth from fiction. Let’s keep these ways of seeing our Savior forefront in our minds this Christmas.

If you would like to have the sermon outline, you can download it here, a pdf file.
Here is a video record of the service on Rumble, an alternative to YouTube. The end of the video is not centered on Pastor, and the altar. That is my fault, sorry, I was distracted.
