Bible Verse for Sunday Service December 5, 2021
Luke 2:30-32
for my eyes have seen your salvation
that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and for glory to your people Israel.
Announcements:
As Christmas approaches, the announcements alerted us to the special music program next Sunday in honor of Christmas, and Christmas Eve service at 5:30PM. We were all welcomed to the Church today by new lettering on the building, lettering easily seen from Shepherd Rd, along with a cross. These improvements were provided by funds given in memory of Virginia Locke and Henry Weschenfelder. Lastly, Steve reminded us of a Deacons’ meeting on Thursday.
Sermon:
For the Advent season, Pastor spoke on the first verses in Matthew, 1:1-17. These verses provide a genealogy of Jesus. Sometimes lists of names can seem boring, something to pass over, but Pastor preached on the biblical truths contained therein, that Chris is King. Those truths also include showing Christ’s connection to the patriarchs like Abraham. Women included in the lineage, which was unusual at the time, also provide evidence of God’s plan in Christ, grace. And aren’t we all grateful every day for God’s grace, shown in the past to Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba, and shown to each of us every day.

If you would like to have the sermon outline, you can download it here, a pdf file.
Here is a video record of the service on Rumble, an alternative to YouTube. If you would like a link to this service you can find it here. Unfortunately, I messed up the last 15 minutes of recording, called forward for Communion, I forgot to refocus the screen on the entire alter. I apologize for this oversight. Nevertheless, perhaps you would like to share it with your friends? Also, if you would like to see all the services, you can find them here.
