Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
1 Peter 1:18
knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

It is time for another reminder about the AWANA Grand Prix on March 26, were volunteers like you make this happen by setting up and running the race. Special:
It was wonderful to have Cole with us to help dad Dale with the worship music, and for our enjoyment. He demonstrated his musical skill by adding some musically embellishment to one of the hymns. Cole is certainly very skilled with the trumpet.
Sermon:
Pastor continued his review of the beatitudes in Matthew, 5:17-20, Jesus’ proclamation of the arrival of the Kingdom of God with a message titled “The Voice of Authority.” In these verses Jesus explains the relationship between the Kingdom of God that he is announcing and the Law previously given Moses. Jesus explains that he didn’t come to abolish the Law. Instead, He came to fulfill it. But, in providing this guidance Jesus explains how the Jews had failed to understand and apply the law to their lives. Many thought the Pharisees perfectly carried out the Law with the strict adherence to the letter of the Law. But Jesus stated that the proper fulfillment of the Law required a righteousness greater than that exhibited by the Pharisees.
In the Kingdom of God, a righteous person, a believer, a Christian understands that the necessary righteousness comes from God through faith in His Son, and not from adherence to the Law. A believer powered by a trust in the Law has in his or her heart the attitudes and beliefs specified in the Law, and the power to exhibit those beliefs through Jesus at work in that believer.
Pastor in his sermon pointed out these things through covering that all scripture points to Christ, just as it proclaims the truth. With these as our foundation, Pastor asked how should we respond to these truths? We have a responsibility to view the scriptures as our authority, and respond according, knowing, obeying and teaching scripture.
In the second part of the sermon, Pastor went over what Jesus requires of us in light of what he has said. We need a righteousness that is greater than that of the scribes and Pharisees. In fact, we need to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48). Where are we going to get such a righteousness? Only from our Father himself, by believing in and trusting His Son, Jesus. This is our first step into the Kingdom of God.
