What We Believe
Statement of Faith
-We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God, verbally inspired and without error in the original documents. It is the totally trustworthy guide for life, faith and practice
- We teach that salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redemption of Jesus Christ, on the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. Regeneration is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, using the convicting power of the Word of God to produce eternal life in the believing sinner.
- We believe that all who are genuinely “born again” are kept eternally secure by the power of God through the Holy Spirit.
We believe God eternally exists in three Persons – The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe God the Father is the Creator of all things and is the absolute and omnipotent Ruler of the universe. He saves from sin all who com to Him through Jesus Christ and is therefore a spiritual Father to all who believe.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and is truly Man. He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross. He rose again on the third day and is coming again to judge the world.
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He was sent into the world to convict and regenerate those who believe in Christ. His present work involves baptizing those who believe into the body of Christ at the time of salvation. He then fills believers with His power for service and sanctification.
We teach that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body – the church. The church is a unique spiritual organism made up of all born again believers in the present age.
We believe that a local church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on an acceptable confession of faith, associated for worship, work and fellowship and having two offices, pastor(s) and deacons. We practice two ordinances: water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (typically the first Sunday of each month).
We believe that God created man in His own image and because of this, every person has unique worth. But we also believe that mankind was essentially corrupted as a result of Adam’s disobedience and we are all now sinners, both by nature and deed.
We teach that physical death involves no loss of consciousness or existence. The soul of the redeemed is immediately in the presence of Christ, while the soul of the unredeemed descends into hell.
We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ to claim His own. We believe the timing of the rapture will be before the tribulation, with the second coming of Christ in glory happening at the conclusion of the 7-year tribulation. This will lead to a literal thousand year millennial kingdom and in the end, the final judgment of the lost at the Great White Throne Judgment. Eternity in the lake of fire is the final destiny of the lost, while heaven and the New Jerusalem awaits the redeemed of all the ages.
